I have been at Hardin-Simmons since 1997. I came to Abilene from Lafayette, LA, where I attended graduate school at the University of Southwestern Louisiana—now known as University of Lousiana-Lafayette.
I am married to Emmett Thompson who is a project manager with RenTech Boiler Systems located here in Abilene. We have one son, Aidan. We attend Holy Family Catholic Church.
Sports do not build character. They reveal it.
We are active in such youth organizations as the West Texas Youth Football League, Dixie Little League Baseball, and West Texas Junior Golf Tour. When I am not at work, I am usually watching my son participate in sports. He is an incredible athlete, and watching him perform on the field, court, or course has given Emmett and I great joy. He has won championships in all the of the youth sports he has participated in—football, basketball, baseball and golf.
The main idea in golf as in life, I supose, is to learn to accept what cannot be altered, and to keep on doing one’s own reasoned and resolute best whether the prospect be bleak or rosy. Bobby Jones
